Oh HELLO there! (get it?) Today is day 3 of Kid's Clothes Week and I made another pair of Elegance and Elephants Bubble Shorts – this time using super delicious double gauze Nani Iro fabric from Miss Matatabi. I loved the other pair of shorts I made, but this pair has now edged them out of the favourites spot. It’s the fabric that does it. This beautiful Japanese fabric makes me want to take up watercolour painting, pick wildflowers and buy more of it all at the same time.
These photos really do not do this gorgeous fabric justice…
I made the size 18m/2T for Pipi who is currently coming up 15 months. I wanted them to be nice and roomy on her because I made them for Summer (it’s Winter here at the moment!)
The “Hello” top was a bit of a happy accident. The spotty fabric is a re-purposed adult tee from the op shop, I re-used this freezer paper stencil I'd already made, with gold fabric paint and had intended using bright floral sleeves, but then decided to tie it with the shorts more with a pop of neon on the cuff. Once again I used the Acadia raglan tee pattern from Mamastello, which doesn’t seem to be available anymore.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how difficult it is to take photos of a wriggly baby modelling clothes?
Pipi spent the bulk of this ‘photo shoot’ determined to remove the hair tie from her hair!
… And then she tried to put it back in again! Babies!
Are you joining in with Kid's Clothes Week? Whatcha making?
