Yay! I’ve been looking forward to this day for a little while (I’m such a sewing geek!) It’s the first day of Kid's Clothes Week.
I’m reasonably organised this time around with a few things cut out all ready and a general plan of what I want to make. But I do like a bit of spontaneity too – I seem to create better that way. So today, instead of sewing for Noah like I’d originally planned, I decided to sew for Isabelle instead (besides I already had the right colour of thread in my sewing machine.
I sewed these little shorts using chambray in my stash using the Elegance and Elephants Bubble Shorts pattern. I’ve owned this pattern for a while but it’s the first time I’ve tried it (actually I cut this pair in size 3/4T over 6 months ago! So it was good to finally get them made!) The Liberty fabric in the waistband and tie as well as the top was purchased from here. The pattern and tutorial for the peasant top is a free one from this blog. I made the size 4/6 which is quite roomy and floaty, but will be perfect for Summer – it’s currently Winter here in the Southern Hemisphere.
My little girl was a trouper modelling this outfit for me, despite the polar blast we’ve had here recently … but sewing these Summer clothes is making me dream of our Summer to come!
I can’t wait until day 2! You can expect lots of stripes, spots, more floral and a bit of upcycling from me!
