I’ve recently had word that both of my swap partners have received my makings, so now I’m excited to share them here!
The title of this blog post should really be ‘chalk and cheese’ because these two garments are so different from each other. Other than the fact that they are both size 2T, they have not much else in common. One is for a boy, modern and made from knit fabric; while the other is for a girl, vintage and made from woven fabric. (Actually, they are much like me because I like a bit of both styles!)
I made the little hoodie for Kristin’s little cutie Benji using the Somerset Hoodie pattern (which I’ve used a couple of times before, most notably, here.) I used some lightweight sweatshirting fabric and this fabric from girl charlee for the trim.
My second partner is Alison who requested something for her little 2 year old girl. This is what I came up with a little dress with very twirly skirt. (I used, and slightly downsized this free pattern and tutorial – which now seems to be unavailable, unfortunately. I printed it out ages ago.) The bodice fabric is from a vintage table cloth, the skirt is some fabric I had in my stash, and it is trimmed with vintage ribbon.
My swap partners have both told me they like the garments and they fit (something I was a little concerned about, phew!)
I can’t wait to receive the items from my partners in the mail and share them with you here!
Be sure to link in with MY LINKY if you post about what you made or received! (There’s a spot prize going for someone who does!)
(Also joining in with show and tell later in the week)
