[My sister Holly and I at the birth of our brother Tom, with our Gran Pat and Mum.]
This has been a much procastinated blog post. Partly because after a break in blogging (almost 2 weeks) it can be hard to get back into it; but mostly because I find it harder/ more time consuming to blog about the most important things, which in this case is my Gran Pat.
My Gran passed away a couple of Fridays ago. It was sudden and very sad. She was a very special lady that had a huge impact on all of our lives. She was generous, warm, loving and humorous, witty and clever. A great cook, wonderful host, lover of flowers, the colour blue and her family.
It’s really hard to write this post and feels really odd to speak in the past tense. The emotions are still very raw but the memories are lovely and comforting. It also has been great to spend a week and a bit down in Christchurch with family.
My Dad told me several times while we were down there that my Gran loved to keep up to date with happenings of our little family by reading my blog on the ipad that he bought her; so I guess it is fitting that I pay tribute to her here.
We love you Gran and will remember you always.
[Photos of Gran in her younger years; as a baby, a toddler and on her wedding day. Is it just me or does the photo on the right look a little like Isabelle?]
I’ll be popping back here soon to share my 52 portraits for the last 2 weeks – all taken while down in Christchurch.
