J’aime les Macarons – a delicious giveaway

JLM
Have you tried the macarons from J'aime les Macarons yet? I was introduced to them by sister a while back when she arranged for box of these beauties to be sent to my doorstep and I was dazzled by both their prettiness and deliciousness. I almost wanted to not eat all of them because they looked so amazing. Almost. This plan was foiled by my first taste. Biting into a crisp outer shell you are met with a soft, slightly chewy centre and the most amazing ganache or butter cream filling.

Just as you would at a fancy wine tasting, you find yourself seeking out and describing the different flavours your taste buds are experiencing;  the floral notes  of ‘Rose’, the perfection of ‘Pistachio’ and the way the the unlikely ingredients of salt and caramel combine to give ‘Salted Butter Caramel.” Each flavour brings a different experience. I’m also looking forward to trying some of the Golden Summer 2013/14 Collection – especially ‘Watermelon’, ‘Yoghurt & Lime’ and ‘Elderflower & Lemon’ – to name just a few!

Amanda and Bridget, the two ladies behind J'aime Les Macarons have extremely impressive backgrounds in both business and beautiful food and began this business as a stall selling macarons at the Canterbury Farmer’s Market. Unsuprisingly, business has blossomed and now J'aime Les Macarons have two Christchurch stores: @The Colombo and Normans Road where they also sell other tasty treats; and their macarons are also stocked at various locations around the country (see here for more details).

And, (most importantly for those of us that don’t live in Christchurch or near one of the stockists) you can purchase a box of 12 macarons online, to be delivered to a NZ address. These make great gifts – and having been on the receiving end, I can vouch that all my macarons arrived quickly and perfectly intact.
