Ergobaby Carrier Review

Ergobaby review

I was extremely lucky to be selected as a Kidspot New Zealand Mum's Say reviewer for this awesome Ergobaby carrier.

I’m already a keen baby wearer and familiar with the benefits of baby wearing, but when I received and first tried on this carrier, I had a bit of an ‘ah ha’ moment. You know those moments when you suddenly realise what you were missing out on. (I also had one of these moments when we traded in our teeny weeny 2 door car for a 7 seater.)

The front pack that we’d previously bought was bottom of the range and really not very comfortable, although I didn’t really realise quite how comfortable a carrier could be until I tried on my Ergobaby carrier. (The model I received is the Ergobaby Original Bundle of Joy in black/camel with infant insert.) It’s high-density padding and straps make it so comfortable and enable the weight to be distributed really well. Also, this is the first carrier that I’ve used where I feel that I can be completely hands free.

I really wish I’d had this carrier with Noah. He was such a colicky baby and I often had to carry him round/ wear him all day just to get him to fall asleep, and to enable me to get any housework done. Having this carrier would have made it  A LOT easier!

As well as comfort, I really love the versatility of this carrier. You can use it for a newborn (with the infant insert for a bit of extra support see the pic above) all the way through to a 20kg toddler/child on your back. You can also wear it in a hip position too.

In the weekend we went for a bit of an adventure at a local waterfall. Pipi loved hanging out in the carrier, she loves being close to me and is such a snuggly wee thing. In fact she was so comfortable, that soon enough she feel asleep!

The carrier was also great for going on a bit of a bush walk – much easier than handling a buggy round those paths and I also had my hands free to handle my other two kids.

I love the hood feature which can be clipped over baby’s head to shelter them from sun/ wind or for discrete breastfeeding.

I know I will be using my Ergobaby carrier heaps more and I can definitely see why it’s a multi-award winning product.

Thanks Kidspot NZ Mums Say and Babes in arms for sending me this awesome carrier.
