Yesterday at 4.15pm we welcomed our little darling girl, Pipi Grace into our family. She is 7 pounds 5 of perfection.
My labour was beautiful and so different than my others. Despite an extremely long latent phase again! my midwife tells me that this is just a characteristic of my births), the second half went really well and fast – we went into hospital around 3 that afternoon and I had her a short hour and a bit later in the pool. We were able to share this magical moment with my sister, Holly, who was an AMAZING support, and got to cut Pipi’s cord. My midwives, Donna and Pania were AMAZING too – it was great to receive hugs and kisses from them at the end. You could tell that it was more than a job for them.
We also had heaps of other support and love around us during the whole process with my Mum looking after the kids since Monday (when the first contractions started – I told you the first bit was looonnng); as well as heaps of other friends from church texting me messages of support, bible verses and praying for us during this time.
Pipi means Phoebe in Maori , which means radiant. Phoebe also was a women in the bible who aided the apostle Paul.
We are all enjoying drinking in her beauty (especially Noah).
