Wardrobe Wednesday: 28 weeks (& date night)

As much as I love being at home with the kids, I do seem to jump at any opportunity to have some kid free time and go out with the husband. Likewise, I enjoy dressing casually but also jump at any opportunity to dress up. So after our afternoon paddling on Sunday, Mum and Tony took the kids to stay the night and I couldn’t wait to get dressed up nice and go out …

…Well that is after I’d finished rushing around cleaning and defrosting the fridge/freezer … (nesting?)

Dress: ASOS Maternity (via trademe, the NZ equiv. to Ebay - I paid $21), Green Shoes: Isabella Anselmi from Overland, Necklace: Lisa Leonard (I finally got the chain fixed after too many times of getting pulled by kids!), Earrings: Lovisa

I absolutely love this dress, I bought for a steal about a month or so from trademe and it’s one of the few specifically maternity items I’ve got. It’s so comfy too – with the top and under layer made of a soft T-shirt like material and the top layer a chocolatey chiffon-like fabric. Despite it being maternity wear, this is definitely a dress I’m going to wear while pregnant or not!

As for the date night, we enjoyed a romantic dinner and opted for videos at home rather than going to the movies. The house was extremely quiet without the kids!

It’s our national public holiday today here in NZ – Waitangi Day. We are enjoying having Andrew at home from work and spending some time together as a family. I hope whatever you and and your family are today you are happy and well.

Do you enjoy dressing up and going out as well? (It’s amazing how these little things take on greater value when you have kids!)

Oh, I love the green shoes! You're looking great! I think everyone enjoys their kid free time...nothing wrong with that.

That dress truly look lovely on you! I bet you will be able to wear it well past pregnancy, too!
