My Creative Space : Portable crafting

When we headed away on our quick and spontaneous holiday I grabbed a home magazine and some portable crafting in lieu of a book (I’d just finished one and haven’t picked up another yet.)

A couple of weeks back I picked up a plain, homemade cushion cover from my local St Vinnies for 50 cents, and planned to either embroider or applique something on it.

You can see that I went with the embroidery option. I use the word embroidery pretty loosely, I’m not extremely experienced in the art or especially talented (I think I know 2-3 types of stitches), but I have been kind of intrigued by it recently (see here and here.)

I also recently bought some embroidery patterns/ transfers from sublime stitching so this is probably not the last you’ll see of my dabbling in the art of embroidery.

Joining in with 'Our Creative Spaces' – check out all the inspiration!
