Stuff from Scrap

Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for the Scrap Bag swap over at 'The Wardrobe.'

This is the first swap that I have signed up to since starting my blog and I have to say that I’m a wee bit excited. (I had been keen to join up to others, but always worried that what I had to offer wouldn’t be quite as cool as others … but I figure with fabric scraps I can’t really go wrong.)

I’m excited because:

  • It’s fun to receive something in the mail (especially fabric)
  • I like the challenge of using up scraps – and also usually less fabric means not such a time intensive project, which is nice too
  • It will be fun seeing what everyone makes on their blogs and the flickr group

So make sure you sign up before tomorrow too – and be sure to visit The Wardrobe next week because Nin has promised to post some scrap using- up tutorials.

I had a wee look around my house and blog for stuff I’ve made with scraps of fabric and discovered the following…

Picnik collage

{left to right - appliqued onesies/ tees, owl softies, fabric covered coat hangers, doll’s cot quilt – made pre-blogging days, but featured here, ruffle-butt pants, bunting cards/ invites, actual 'life size' bunting, baby ‘tummy time’ quilt and patchwork ball - both made pre –blog}

… Just reviewing the stuff I’ve made out of scraps makes me see that I’ve used a couple of favourite bits of fabric throughout pretty much every project! It’s great to have favourites, but it will be nice making things with someone else’s old favs.

… And here’s a few other links of ways to use up scrap..
