Noah’s knees and bit about boats

In case you didn’t know already, Dee has started a short shorts fashion revolution for little boys (and it involves a giveaway!)

As Noah is kind of on the shorter side, I find that most shorts for sale out there are long on him anyway. Like Dee, I prefer the shorter style (and seeing those cute little knees); so in preparation for Summer I sewed Noah 3 pairs of shorter shorts.

(I used this pattern from MADE, but for shorts and turned and sewed the hems up to get the length I wanted.)

He has two pairs with the boat fabric as pictured and one pair of blue check. He has basically lived in them this Summer. I love the boat fabric as it was from my Mother in law’s stash and I know with out a doubt that it would have been used/ intended for Andrew who was boat mad as a kid.

In fact, in the last week Andrew’s Mum gave him a whole pile of stuff she’d saved from his childhood – birthday cards, art work, school reports etc. Within which there is a large amount of boat stuff. For example …

This is just the tip of the iceberg!

I wonder if this little fella will grow up boat mad like his Dadda?
