Wooden Toy Store : A review

As mentioned in my last post I’ve been on a bit of a winning streak lately. Last Tuesday I won ‘Free Toy Tuesday’ on the Wooden Toy Store Facebook Page (more on how you can enter this weekly draw yourself below.)

The prize was a gorgeous Bajo rolling seal which arrived today.

Can you tell how much the kid loves it? Thanks heaps Wooden Toy Store!

As I was receiving this toy from Wooden Toy Store I decided to do a bit of a review on them – both the products themself and their website.

I have to say (although I’m probably a bit biased – I did win a free toy from them after all), I am pretty impressed with Wooden Toy Store and here is why:

1) They stock great quality wooden toys (in fact the catch phrase on their facebook page is ‘quality that wont cost the earth’)

There is something quite special about a good quality wooden toy. They are classic, hardwearing and kids love them. I proudly ‘display’ my kids lovely wooden toys in their rooms, almost as part of the decor (meanwhile cheap plastic stuff gets hidden away.) And it is rather refreshing to have nice quiet toys that kids still love without all the noisy, flashy battery powered nonsense that always get ‘fat batteries’ as Noah puts it!

I think my favourite brands of wooden toys is the Pintoy and Le Toy Van ranges, both of which Wooden Toy Store stock. Noah was given the Le Toy Van Le Petit Ark (Noah’s ark – appropriate aye?) pictured above for his 2nd birthday almost a year ago and despite lots of play, getting dropped on the ground a couple of times and his little sister chewing some animals, it is still in great condition. So I can attest to the fact that these toys do last.

2) The range and options are huge

They have a special section for 'Gifts under $35' and stock lots of different brands (I counted 29) and toys for different ages and stages.

3) A simple and easy to use website

You can search by age, price, brand, keyword, or use the tabs along the top to look under different types of toys eg: dolls, dollhouses, role playing etc.

Don’t take my word for it- go and check this out for yourself. I’ve plastered the link all over this – but here's another for good measure.

4) The Wooden Toy Store is a New Zealand and Family business

I like this.

5) Free Shipping (in NZ) when :

* You sign up as a VIP (subscribing you to newsletters) – this applies to your next order.

* On orders over $150 (excluding rural delivery.)

And delivery is FAST – see that last link for delivery time frames and normal shipping costs.

6) The people at the Wooden Toy Store are generous!

Each Tuesday on their facebook page they run Free Toy Tuesday – Go here to find out how and go in the draw to win this week’s prize of a Le Toy Van Budkin’s Castle (value $105) pictured below!!!

… And that’s not all! (I sound like a game show host!) The lovely people at Wooden Toy Store have agreed to host a GIVEAWAY on my blog! Did I just use the ‘G’ word? Yes I did!

I will be back shortly with more details, but in the meantime make sure you enter Free Toy Tuesday and perhaps browse their wonderful website for some gorgeous Christmas gifts!

Here’s a few I know my kids would LOVE …

Le Toy Van Honeybake Tea Set

Le Toy Van Honeybake Baking Set

Zora's Rainbow Puzzle

Zora's Rainbow Puzzle

Wonderworld Big Wheel Truck

Wonderworld Big World Truck

… I could go on, but I think I’ve gushed enough! Be sure to come back soon to enter the giveaway!

Thanks Lisa - like I've said before it's easy to do a glowing review when there are so many positives to talk about. And yes, Noah loves the seal! I love the pic of him hugging it close!
